The puzzle above is a vintage puzzle called the Clock. It consists of 18 clocks over 2 faces. The objective is to turn all clocks to the 12:00 position. This is accomplished by turning 4 knobs (positioned underneath the bulges by the corner clocks). Pushing the four yellow buttons in various combinations activates gears which change the functions of the knobs (ex: when turning any knob with all four button depressed, all of the clocks move when turning a knob whereas if one button is depressed only four move when turning a knob). These buttons are supposed to add to the complexity. After playing around with the puzzle for a while, it is relatively simple to devise an easy solution that requires little effort to memorise.
