I got some sick new puzzles for my birthday. The first is a neat little puzzle similar to the UFO.
Here it is:
Awesome, eh? The center turns and then you can flip along the center line seen vertically in the photo. The mechanism appears to be similar to the square-1 (hinge for center rotation then edge pieces on a groove-and-track).
The second is the Inversion puzzle. Each cubie has 3 blue faces (hidden) and 3 red faces. The objective is to turn the puzzle inside-out by sliding.
The final and most awesome is the V-Cube 7 (7x7x7). It is really difficult to solve and took me around 7 hours the first time. The bulge that you notice is there for a reason: because of the mechanism if the puzzle were perfectly cubular and you turned pieces to a 45 degree angle, pieces would fall out.
