The puzzle you see above is the new Rubik's 360. I found mine in an Italian Gas Station, but they are available at many toy stores. The objective: put the colored balls into their respectively colored domes. The puzzle itself consists of 3 shperes: an outer, a middle, and an inner. The inner and middle spheres rotate within the outer, and small weights are attached to them to add an element of difficulty. Only once you have figured out the effects of the weights on their axis of rotation can you finally solve the puzzle easily and 100% of the time. The domes that house the balls can be "locked" by twisting the black knobs (one of the 2 knobs can be seen at the bottom left of the picture). I have solved mine by the main practise of shaking it until something happens (like one of the balls moving from the inner sphere to the outer sphere). Then I twist the puzzle until one of the balls lines up with one of the little plastic rings (as seen below the orange dome in the picture). Then I rotate the black knob, which causes the ring to rotate, which simultaneously unlocks the dome and drags the ball into the right place. This method is tricky to understand unless you actually have the puzzle. It's a fun puzzle, but is either frustrating (if you decide to take the finess method and try to solve it through rotation) or annoying (to others, if you try the shaking method).
